Up-scaling the production and consumption of bio-energy to reduce carbon emissions and enhance local employment in Nepal

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the national goal of poverty reduction through up-scaling the production and industrial consumption of bio-energy, thereby increasing employment and reducing carbon emissions.

More specific objective(s) are to:

• Create more green jobs through up-scaling Small Sized Bio-Char Enterprises
• Reduce carbon emission through diversifying the production and use of bio-energy as an alternative to imported fossil fuel (LPG, kerosene and coal)
• Sustain the production and supply chain of bio-energy through strengthening the capacity of actors of bio-char sub-sector
